Born Justin Drew Bieber, of Ontario, Canada, Bieber has become the hottest new pop/ R&B singer. Bieber first got his big break in 2008 when one of his YouTube videos was discovered by his soon-to-be manager Scooter Braun. It is said that both Usher and Justin Timberlake heard Bieber's music and wanted to sign him to their contracts. Bieber chose to go with Usher, and that is how he came to be under the Raymond Braun Media Group label.
Going back to the beginning of Justin Bieber, it is easy to see where his singing roots came from. Justin Bieber was born March 1, 1994 in London, Ontario and was then raised in Stratford, Ontario. Bieber was raised by a single mother that was only eighteen years old. She worked at several low-paying jobs, but still managed to keep her son satisfied. Bieber has remained in contact with his father, but is not that close to him.
During childhood, Bieber decided to start teaching himself how to play many instruments. These instruments included the piano, guitar, drums, and trumpet. While perfecting these instruments, Bieber's mother posted many videos of her son's performances online. This is how his video got leaked to Usher in the first place. This video was of Bieber singing Ne-Yo's song "So Sick" in a competition that he placed only second in.
Another great thing about these uploaded videos was the fact that Braun found him. Braun was looking at videos one day, searching for a totally different singer, and accidentally came upon Bieber's video. He was very impressed by what he saw. Even though his mother was hesitant to let him start a singing career, she finally decided to let him go with Braun to start on his demo tapes at the age of thirteen. After being discovered by Usher, Bieber and his mother moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to Usher and Braun.
Bieber's first album, "My World," was released in July 2009. Singles such as "One Time," "One Less Lonely Girl," "Love Me," and "Favorite Girl" peaked and did great on the Billboard Top 100. The songs instantly had international success and were downloaded by millions on iTunes and other music engines. After many downloads and several live performances promoting the songs, his album went platinum. Bieber even appeared on popular shows such as Lopez Tonight, Good Morning America, and Chelsea Lately, to name a few. He also performed for many popular people, even President Obama and his wife.
Bieber's career has really blossomed in a short time. His first tour took place on June 23, 2010 and started in Hartford, Connecticut. Even with all the success, Bieber does still encounter problems. While recording his second album, he noticed that his voice had gotten deeper. He commented that he has to deal with a cracking voice just like any other teenage boy, and has even had to lower the key in his song "Baby" because he can no longer hit all the notes.
With all of his performances, albums, and cute skater boy image, Justin Bieber has become very popular to millions of people all over the world. His career has really taken off and people expect to see many more great things from this talented young man.
